There are over 100 international institutions in Thailand which comprise international schools and international preschools to accommodate the educational needs of expatriate children. Thailand is a popular country for expatriates due to its tropical climate, accessibility to modern comforts and affordable healthcare.
English is the main medium of instruction at international schools. However, many Thai international schools have a bilingual environment where Thai and English are used. A number of international schools place an emphasis on learning Mandarin as well. International schools in Thailand offer a variety of curricula such as the American Curriculum, British Curriculum and International Baccalaureate Curriculum.
