Here are some new international schools in Thailand:
1. VERSO International School
VERSO International School will open in August 2020 in Bangkok and will be ready to cater to 1,800 students. The school’s curriculum is aligned with New York State’s Education Standards from Early Childhood through Grade 12. The school is divided into three loops – Early Childhood to Grade 4, Grades 5 to 8 and Grades 9 to 12. VERSO International School is 30 acres big and offers world-class sporting facilities that include a climate-controlled indoor Olympic standard aquatics centre, a monolithic gymnasium, an athletics stadium with full-sized soccer pitch, all-weather practice pitch, a lake, tennis and basketball courts.
2. BASIS International School Bangkok
Opening in August 2019, BASIS International School Bangkok will be the fifth international school to open in the BASIS Curriculum School network offering the American curriculum. BASIS International School Bangkok will be opened to students from Kindergarten through Grade 5 in the first year with subsequent grades added in the future. Some of the school’s facilities include a 25m competition pool, a 1,600 square metre indoor convertible gym, a design kitchen with 3D printing/wooding/engineering/robotic rooms, a library and co-working space, cafeteria, and Black Box theater, among others.
3. Wellington College International School
Wellington College International School is located in Bangkok and offers the British Curriculum from Pre-nursery through Year 6. In August 2019, the school will open up levels from Years 7 through 13. The school expects 1,500 students to be enrolled by 2020. Extracurricular activities at the school include robotics, music, pottery, swimming, tennis and golf, where students may utilise the dedicated golf training room as well as the Unico Grande Gold Course located adjacent to the school. The school also has a two-storey fantasy library with a ‘reading cave’ and a slide.
4. Rugby School Thailand
Located on the outskirts of Pattaya, Rugby School Thailand is situated on an 80-acre campus and offers the British Curriculum. The school also provides boarding facilities for students, mirroring boarding schools in the United Kingdom. The pre-preparatory school was opened in September 2017 and senior schools in September 2018, offering IGCSE and A Levels. Rugby School Thailand also provides a high-quality Design Technology (DT) that gives students opportunities to widen their creativity and innovation skills using their knowledge with materials, machinery, techniques and processes. The campus includes a boating lake and a golf course in addition to a 10,000 square metre sports hall.
5. Shrewsbury International School Bangkok (City)
In August 2018, Shrewsbury International School Bangkok opened their doors to students aged three to 11 years old. Students enrolled into this school are taught based on the British Curriculum. The school’s campus is strategically located in the heart of Bangkok and features a brand new, age-specific learning environment with the latest technologies and learning resources designed specifically for primary school children. Some of the school’s facilities include a sports hall and running track, an auditorium, a 25 metres long swimming pool, a sports field and a few playgrounds.
