Friday, 21st August 2026 – International School Brunei (ISB) students from the Year 13 cohort of 2026 achieved excellent results in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.
The highest score achieved by the cohort was an exceptional 42 out of 45 points, attained by multiple students, underscoring the outstanding academic achievement of the graduating class. Nearly half of all candidates (46.5%) earned 34 points or higher, reflecting the strong overall performance across the cohort.
Overall, ISB’s Year 13 Class of 2026 achieved an average score of 33 points, which is 10% above the global average. The cohort also recorded an impressive 98% pass rate, significantly surpassing the global pass rate of 82.61%.
In addition, 10 percent of the cohort attained 40 or more points, which is the equivalent of A*AA or above at A Level.
Recognised as the most highly valued curriculum for 16–18-year-olds by universities and employers, the IB Diploma is a challenging and stimulating two-year programme emphasising critical thinking, multi-disciplinary learning, and inter-cultural understanding, opening pathways to the world’s leading universities. From the cohort, every student who applied to university in 2026 has received an offer, with 34 percent of final places at universities in the top 50 in the world, and 59 percent at the top 250 universities in the world. 88 percent of the students will be attending their first-choice university. Furthermore, over B$1,000,000 worth of scholarships have been awarded to the cohort so far, demonstrating recognition of the students’ achievements. At ISB, IB students receive personalised university and career guidance from the school’s Pre-University team, and the cohort’s success is a testament to this support.
