International Preschools in Bangkok – Part 1

Many more parents are investing in early years’ education for their children today. Nowadays, children as young as two years old can be enrolled in preschool. An early years’ education prepares children to enter primary school by equipping them with basic academic, social and communication skills. When choosing preschool for their child, parents need to consider factors such as curriculum offered, teacher credentials, outdoor or physical activities, and teaching methods, among others. 

Thailand has a thriving international school industry offering preschool up to pre-university levels. A majority of international schools in Thailand are located in its capital city, Bangkok. Here are some of the international preschools located in Bangkok:  

1. ABC Pathways International Kindergarten

The kindergarten was established in 2014 in the Sukhumvit district. The curriculum at ABC Pathways is based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). ABC also offers Thai and Mandarin lessons. In addition, the preschool provides after-school and Saturday enrichment courses to improve their students’ language skills. Children are accepted to enter pre-nursery to K3 levels. 

 

2. Annabel's Early Years International Kindergarten

Located in the Sukhumvit district, Annabel’s offers the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The kindergarten also infuses elements of Forest School outdoor learning and the Reggio Emilia approach into the curriculum. Annabel’s caters to children aged 18 months to six years old. In addition, after-school activities such as languages, dance and football are offered. 

3. Associe International Kindergarten Bangkok 35

Associe International originates from Japan where they have over 20 childcare facilities across the country. They expanded to open a branch in Bangkok in 2017. Associe International offers a unique Japanese curriculum to children aged two to six years old. Students at Associe also have the opportunity to learn how to prepare meals in the special ‘Kids Kitchen’.

 

4. IPC International Kindergarten

This kindergarten opened its doors in 1983. Located in the Sukhumvit district, IPC offers a British-based curriculum to children aged two to six years old. IPC’s classes are divided into Nursery 1, Nursery 2, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2. 

5. Kensington International Kindergarten

Located in the Taling Chan district, Kensington offers the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The kindergarten provides classes for toddlers as well as nursery and reception levels. In addition, there are a number of extracurricular activities at Kensington such as language and music clubs. 

 

6. Kiddykare International Kindergarten

The kindergarten was established in 1994 in the Sukhumvit district. The curriculum at Kiddykare is based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Kiddykare also integrates the Jolly Phonics programme to teach children reading and writing skills. Children aged 18 months to six years old can enter the kindergarten.  

 

7. Kids Kingdom International Kindergarten

Established in 2011, Kids Kingdom offers a unique international preschool curriculum which combines outcome, objective, play and inquiry-based learning. Located in the Sukhumvit district, the preschool is open to children aged 18 months to six years old. Children at Kids Kingdom can participate in a variety of extracurricular activities such as cooking, swimming and yoga. 

 

8. Kids' Academy International Preschool

The kindergarten was established in 2003 in the Sukhumvit district. The curriculum at Kids’ Academy is based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Children are aged 18 months to five years old can enter the preschool.  

 

9. Kidz Village International Kindergarten

The kindergarten is located in the Thani Wattana district and opened its doors in 2012. Children aged 18 months to six years old are taught based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Kidz Village also offers after school programmes, playgroups and more. 

10. Melodies International Kindergarten

The kindergarten was established in 1981 in the Sukhumvit district. The curriculum at Melodies is based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Children are aged two to six years old can enter the preschool. Both English and Japanese are the medium of instruction at the kindergarten.
