The Cambridge International Curriculum provides an educational pathway for students from age five to 19. The curriculum consists of four stages which are Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Lower Secondary, Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International A Level. Students’ learning is assessed through Checkpoints at the end of Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary.
Here are five schools in Indonesia offering the Cambridge International Curriculum:
Cita Hati School has three branches which are the East Campus, West Campus and Samarinda Campus. The East and West campuses are located in Surabaya and provide Elementary, Junior High and Senior High levels. The Samarinda Campus is only open to Elementary level students. Students are taught the Elementary Curriculum which is enriched by the Cambridge Curriculum in English, Mathematics and Science. Cita Hati School adopts the Cambridge Secondary Curriculum from Grade 7 to Grade 10 which prepares students for the IGCSE examinations. At Senior High level, students in Grades 11 and 12 can complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or the Cita Hati Diploma Programme (CHDP).
2. ACS Jakarta
In 2002, Sekolah Tiara Bangsa partnered with Anglo Chinese School in Singapore and eventually opened ACS Jakarta four years later. It is the first overseas campus of ACS Singapore and is located in Cilangkap, Jakarta. ACS Jakarta is an authorised Cambridge Centre and IB World School. Students are prepared to sit for Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Tests at Grade 6 and IGCSE Examinations at Grade 10. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is offered at Grade 12. In addition, ACS Jakarta provides Mandarin classes at foundation, standard and advanced levels.
Beacon Academy was established in 2007 and is located in Jakarta. The school offers the Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary programmes. Year 9 and 10 students sit for the IGCSE examinations. Beacon Academy is an IB World School and offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at pre-university level. In addition, the school offers the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC). The main medium of instruction is English but Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, Hindi and French are used as well.
Global Sevilla School was founded in 2002 and consists of two campuses, Puri Indah (West Jakarta) and Pulomas (East Jakarta). In 2003, Global Sevilla School became an authorised Cambridge Centre. The school accepts students from Early Years to pre-university stages. Global Sevilla School offers Cambridge Primary and IGCSE Preparatory programmes at secondary level. Besides that, early years and primary school students are taught the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The Global Sevilla Nasional Program (GS Nasional), TOEFL, IELTS and SAT English (Critical Reading & Analytical Writing) are offered at Grades 11 and 12 to prepare students for university application.
Students can enter Ichthus School at primary, secondary and pre-university levels. The school offers the Ichthus Primary Programme which prepares students to sit for the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Tests. Secondary school students are taught the Cambridge Secondary Curriculum leading up to the IGCSE examinations. Students can also enrol in the school’s A Level programme at pre-university level. Ichthus School has two campuses, the South Campus and West Campus, both located in Jakarta.
