Children enter national primary schools in Shah Alam at age seven. Primary education is compulsory for all Malaysian children. Generally, children will be in primary school for six years. At the end of Standard 6, children aged 12 will sit for the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) or Primary School Achievement Test.
