Singapore is one of the best countries for expatriates to live and work. There is a growing expatriate community and an increasing number of international schools to choose from. The following describes five international schools that have recently opened their doors to international students.

Here are the list of schools:

 

1. Nexus International School (Singapore)

Nexus International School (Singapore) (NISS) which currently sits at Bukit Timah will be opening its doors at their new location in Aljunied, Geylang, in year 2020. The school, home to 2,000 students all-through IB, aged three to 18 years old, will be relocating to a ‘vertical campus’. On the lower floors of the building sits the primary school students, a double-storey library, sports hall and a play deck. The communal areas will be on the middle floors and the secondary school on the upper floors. The school boasts a cutting-edge list of modern facilities, with strong environmental focus. A state of the art sports field, 50m Olympic-sized swimming pool, 700-seat theatre and the latest innovative learning environments are some of the things available in the school. The school uses the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and IGCSE curriculum followed by IB Diploma Programme at pre-university level.

 

 

 

2. Global Indian International School

The new Global Indian International School (GIIS) campus in Punggol is one of the most technologically-advanced SMART campuses in all of Asia. With more than 130 classrooms and seven-stories high, classrooms are fitted with TV display panels and tablets and high-speed internet in addition to the sports data analytics and smart safety features like facial recognition. Students also have the opportunity of learning in virtual classrooms, which allows long-distance group projects to be implemented with fellow Global Indian International School students across seven countries. GIIS also boasts a green campus and is involved in plenty of ongoing water conservation efforts. The school curriculum follows India’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), IGSCE and IB in higher grades.

3. Chatsworth International School

Chatsworth International Schoolrecently opened their second campus in August 2018 in Bukit Timah after the school’s East campus ceased operations.The secondary school (Years 7 to 13) has since moved to the new campus.The primary school has expanded to include students from Kindergarten through Year 6 at the existing Orchard Campus. Chatsworth International School at Bukit Timah includes facilities such as a sports complex, swimming pool, basketball court, football pitch, performing arts hall, art and music rooms, science labs, a library and a canteen. The school practices the IB PYP programme followed by the IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme.

 

 

4. One World International School

Located in a new Nanyang campus in early 2018, One World International School welcomes students aged three to 18, offering lower fees to cater to the demand of expatriates looking for cheaper schooling options. The school offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Curriculum at primary school and pre-university levels. Students sit for the IGCSE examinations at the end of secondary school. One World International School also houses a “nature kindergarten”, a natural learning environment for children aged three to six years old. In addition, the school has a multicultural and diverse student community. Classrooms are equipped with e-learning technology and there are facilities for entrepreneurship, performing & visual arts and technology & robotics.

 

5. German European School Singapore (GESS)

At German European School Singapore (GESS), a choice between two main curricula are offered; the English-speaking IB programme and the German Curriculum for students aged 18 months to 18 years old. The school is also the first school outside of Europe that has been accepted into the esteemed Junior Engineer Academy network, which was incepted by the Deutsche Telekom Foundation with the goal of fostering interest in technical and engineering sectors among young students. GESS also offers an After School Programme for students from Kindergarten up to Grade 12 which includes music, sports, language enrichment, social activities and natural sciences.
