United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to have the highest number of international schools in the Gulf region. In the recent years, many more schools opened for both expatriates and locals.

 

Here are the list of new international schools in UAE:

 

Dunecrest American School

1. Dunecrest American School

Dunecrest American School opened its doors in September 2018. The school offers a standards-based American curriculum from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12, with the option of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12. Dunecrest American School also has an American Education Reaches Out (AERO) project which is supported by the United States Department of Education’s Office of Overseas Schools. AT preschool level, a creative curriculum is practiced and is modelled after the US Board of Education.

 

 

Fairgreen International School Dubai

2. Fairgreen International School Dubai

The Fairgreen International School Dubai campus is designed for minimal environmental impact. The school utilises solar power for all its energy needs and water is recycled for agricultural use. The curriculum follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum for students aged 3 to 19 year olds. Fairgreen International School Dubai also offers the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Program where students aged 14 years and older will have the opportunity to join a two-week summer program by experiencing college life at Stanford University. A Fine Arts program is also offered to students where it is designed to encourage visual artistic expression through a variety of media such as painting, printmaking, crafts and photography.

 

 

The Aquila School

3. The Aquila School

Opened in September 2018, The Aquila School is located near The Villa, Dubai, and practices the British Curriculum. The school caters for children from FS1 and will expand to offer courses up to Year 7 in September 2019. Arabic is compulsory for Arab nationals and Arabic as a Foreign Language is required for students through Year 9. The school was also awarded the Best Design Education Project of the Year at the Design Middle East Awards 2018. Some facilities that are available are design technology and food technology rooms, dedicated music and art rooms, sport facilities, canteen and information and communications technology.

 

Bright Riders

4. Bright Riders

Located in Dubai Investments Park, Bright Riders School Dubai was opened in April 2018. The school provides an Indian CBSE based curriculum from Kindergarten through Grade 12 and follows a digital approach of teaching by implementing classrooms enhanced with technological equipment for the purpose of better learning and teaching. Teachers can use the resources available on the internet as well as the content available on the internal server of the school for better understanding of students. There is also an arts and crafts programme at the school for students. This includes pencil shading, 3D drawing and watercolours and acrylic painting.

 

Dubai International Academy, Al Barsha

5. Dubai International Academy, Al Barsha

Dubai International Academy, Al Barsha offers all IB programmes from Primary through Diploma courses. The school also provides learning support to both primary and secondary school. All teachers under the Special Education Needs (SEN) are teachers of children with SEN. Dubai International Academy also believes in using technology as a tool to enhance learning for all students. Therefore, technology is used in classrooms for students to explore their own ideas and develop themselves as holistic learners. Co-curricular activities is provided as well and students must participate in at least one activity.
